This data logger is compatible with the CS615 and CS616 soil moisture probes from Campbell Scientific©.
The period of the input signal is determined by averaging 32 consecutive samples. Two measurement modes are software selectable for each input channel.
Mode 0 is for measuring low frequency signals with a period of 0.02 to 6.0 milliseconds (50,000 Hz to 167 Hz).
The resolution and accuracy of the measurement is +/- 0.100 microseconds.
This mode effectively covers the frequency range of the CS615 sensor.
Mode 1 is for measuring high frequency signals with a period of 3 to 200 microseconds (333.3 kHz to 5,000 kHz).
The resolution and accuracy of the measurement is +/- 0.0125 microseconds.
This mode effectively covers the frequency range of the CS616 sensor.
Additionally this datalogger includes protection against accidentally attaching the power supply backwards, a combination of zener diodes and transient voltage suppressors on the inputs and switched outputs to protect against momentary voltage spikes/shorts.
The number of time and date stamped samples that can be stored depends upon the number of channels selected for recording.
The contents of memory will be retained for up to ten years in the absence of power.
All settings are retained in non-volatile memory until changed by the user.
The dataloggers real time clock is backed up by a 3-vdc lithium battery for up to ten years in the absence of power.
